My Take on Installing Alacritty

I’m trying Alacritty because it comes with CachyOS.
I’m trying CachyOS because it has the latest KDE Plasma 6 and I want to get a gander ^_^

Short take? I’m liking Alacritty.

So much so that I plan to install it on my daily driver that has Kubuntu but before I do I’m trying it out in a Kubuntu VM first.
The install instructions1 provided by Alacritty’s github are great.
I got it up and running no problem. 👌

The thing that gave me pain is their config file which is a TOML file.
Except that, there is no TOML file! 😅

I searched the repo to no avail2.
I looked at their provided webpage3 that details what you can put into their config file but no luck.

My only saving grace was Alacritty in CachyOS comes with a config file so I had that file to refer to on how to make entries in the TOML file.

It won’t stop me from continuing to get familiar with Alacritty. I just wish they had a basic config file I could copy to start with. 😄
